One of the best!

Dw7, Dq6 and Dq3! Can you say best job class systems in the world! We just need DQX to be complete come on Square-Enix Americans are missing out on all the fun!

Almost perfect!

Only thing that could make this perfect is if they release 5 and 6 ASAP

Its about time

The last time dq1-3 came to the US was on GameboyColor. This is a port of that but with some obvious upgrades, especially audio. Must-have!

Finally

Awesome

Besides the prologue music missing...

It is the best port of this game. Unless you prefer home consoles.

Downloaded immediately when I saw it

Cause its awesome ! All Im missing now is dragon quest 7 and Ill be a super happy guy :) thanks squareenix!

Flawless

When this game came out on NES in America I was 12. It was the first RPG I ever played and I was hooked. It was revolutionary at the time, and the things that made it strong still hold to this day. Creating your party from scratch, strong story with connection to previous entries, challenging fights, mob grinding that doesnt feel too tedious, each city feeling unique, innovating aspects like a developing city that you co-found...the list goes on. Add on the bonus of updated graphics and music, and this is a must buy.

Just like I remember

This was my first dragon quest game. I had it on the gameboy color when it was known as dragon warrior 3. Everything is running smooth, I havent experienced any sort of bugs yet. Highly recommended this game if your into role playing games.

One of the best RPGs of all time

I dont write many reviews, but I cant help myself here. The true makings of a classic game provide tons of replay value, and impact people in multiple generations with that title, while spawning endless titles afterwards. Three particular titles come to mind from the late 80s/early 90s that were all on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Those titles are The Legend of Zelda 1, Final Fantasy 1 (FF1), and Dragon Quest/Warrior 3 (DQ3). All three games have combined for about 50 new titles after these legendary releases. Both FF1 and DQ3 were games that you would beat, and then wonder, "Cool, can I do it with another party?" You would then devote another week or so to running the gauntlet again with the new party, kill Chaos (FF1) or Zoma (DQ3), and then maybe take a 6 month or one year break from the game, but it would still be on your mind, "Hey, I have to beat this game again, but with another party." This would go on for the next 20 years for me, but with longer breaks. I bought these games for $65-70 USD in the 90s with my allowance money, downloaded the free ROMs in the 2000s, and spent a fraction of that 90s money again in the 2010s to continue playing those two games on the iPhone. DQ3 is such a fun game, because not only can you customize and substitute in your party, you can also vary your path in where you go. For example: Want to challenge yourself early and get the Golden Claw, and delay going north to the town of Kanave, you can do that. So much variation is in this game, that you will never get tired of it. I also love the nostalgia of reliving Alefgard in DQ1 as the dark world in DQ3. You did some amazing work on DQ3 Enix (would become Square Enix years later). Everyone always slams DQ2 so hardly too. Was that game really so bad, or was DQ3 just one of those games that changed the standards of RPGs forever? I tend to think the later.

DQIII

Thank You SE for finally making this awesome beautiful game on IOS!! this game brings back so many good memories... You just made me the happiest man alive!! Best RPG In the world!!!!!!

FINALY!!!!

BEST GAME EVER! NES 4 LIFE!

Monster medals please!

Ive been waiting for this! And its Finally here! Was my favorite on the gameboy color. This game is a must have for all fans of the dragon quest saga. Some features I would like to request are Access to world map. I cant seem to figure out how to do this (GBC had the option ) Monster medals! Would be amazing to collect them and trade them through wifi! Also the second bonus dungeon would be then accessible. So far no bugs to report! I cant wait to play and save the world :)

ADD THE PACHISI BOARD!!!

I was so disappointed when I saw it wasnt there!! Please add it! Its such a fun part of the game! Its essential!!

Like a lot

I always loved the dragon warrior/ dragon quest series. What I dont like about this port is the taking away of the pacshi track. Then with all the items being renamed, I couldnt figure out what was what. But the graphics are great and no crashes yet.

WHY?!?!?

No pachisi game boards? No monster metals? How hard would it have been to put those things in? And no enemy animation? As an owner of the original Dragon Warrior III I can appreciate this version for what it is. But to remove the content Im referring to is like like taking one step forward and three steps back. I shouldnt be able to play a more advanced game on my Gameboy Color.

Must buy, excellent retro JRPG with iPad/iPhone comfort

Dragon Quest is classic role-playing series. DQ3 has the best evolved engine and the largest world of the first three Dragon Quests, and this is the latest "state of art" version of DQ3 — with all modern mobile touchscreen bells and whistles: NES → SNES → GBC → iOS. There is a reason this game survived so many platforms and still sales at high prices. It is classic of computer games. DQ3 is prequel to the first Dragon Quest, and DQ2 is sequel to it. Thats another reason to buy DQ3, even if you arent ready to buy the whole series. DQ3, also known as Dragon Warrior III, is well-crafted beginning of the epic story about Edric. Although this DQ3 is the latest and most updates release, you must be aware its retro-game from the golden age of Japanese RPG (JRPG). JRGP fandom made pirate self-made English translations of this game, but today you can enjoy officially localized version. Even if you arent deep into retro-gaming, this application is the less painful way to learn about role-playing heritage without installing old hardware or emulation software.

Amazing

One of the best JRPGs of all time. a little expensive considering how old the game is, but its aged gracefully and is well worth the price. If youre a fan of the genre I highly recommend this game and have been having a great time playing it. I do have a small complaint though, they got rid of the monster animations :-( If modern phones can handle the full DQVIII then they can easily handle the enemy animations, bring them back please!!!

Good game with a slight translation issue

There are some weird translation errors in this game that make you read things a few times over. There are also some small spelling errors and such like "defence" and such. Good game though, great nostalgia in this one.

Best iPhone game Ive ever downloaded

This game is amazing. Controls are great, game itself is enthralling and I cant get enough of it. If this dev comes out with a dragon warrior monsters app like this Ill download it in a heartbeat.

Disappointing...

I love the series but the game boy color version is leaps and bounds better, this one omits the monster medals, classs changing and pachisi which were what made this game unique and great.... and who knows how much more is left out :(
